- WASHING
- Washing:
- - Wash before 1st use
- - Wash in a wash bag to avoid damaging the mask.

UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF BARRIER MASKS
There are different types of barrier masks:
- - Artisanal masks (home-made): they follow the AFNOR recommendations but are not validated by the DGA test protocols.
- - UNS 2 masks: filter only 70% of the particles emitted.
- - UNS 1 masks ( = Decathlon design choice): filter 90% of the particles of 3 µm and more emitted by the wearer.
These barrier masks are not to be confused with "PPE" (FFP) masks, or "Medical Use" surgical masks.
DO I NEED TO ADD A FILTER?
This Magic custom mask has been designed to filter particles without the need for an additional filter. Adding a filter may be harmful because it will degrade the respirability of the mask.
By blocking the air, the additional filter will increase the risk of air leakage to the sides of the mask. For this reason, we have not provided a location for an additional filter.
